Thanks for purchasing the EspressiScale and supporting my work!

I really hope you like it.

1. Getting ready for a battery

The battery you should use is a 3.7v 1000mah 603048. You can get those at Aliexpress, if you havent already.

Once you have the battery you can open the scale by loosening the 2 screws on the bottom and removing the base plate.

2. Soldering the battery

To connect the battery, solder the wires to the small USB-C board. You can lift it out or, if it's stuck, use a USB plug to push it deeper into the enclosure.

Pass the battery wires through the pin holes on the top of the USB-C board. Insert the black wire into the blue circle and the red wire into the red circle. Heat the pad on the back with a soldering iron and then add some solder.

4. Calibrating the scale

Check the scale calibration to see if shipping has affected its accuracy. If it has, visit my GitHub for calibration instructions. If you're unsure of your calibration factor, email me at whauu@espressiscale.com, and I'll provide it to you. This will help make calibration easier.

3. Fastening the USB-C board and battery

To attach the USB-C board, peel off the top layer of the double-sided tape where the board was. Insert the connector into the hole; it should fit snugly. Push it in far enough to get the board past the small ledge. Now push down on the adhesive.

Lastly secure the battery on the opposite side of the loadcell with some double sided tape, making sure it is not touching the loadcell.

DO NOT USE THE MAGNETIC CHARGER FOR CHARGING WHEN BATTERY AND USBC BOARD IS CONNECTED.

If you have any problems or questions, feel free to email me at whauu@espressiscale.com.
